A teacher showed me a hand screen stretcher tool that works with needles that pull the fabric. It looks a little like a window squeegee, and the needles are really dangerous. Does anyone know where they are sold?
So..... I found more signs again today. Not in the same spots but still closer to me then I like.
I also did some recon on the person putting the signs out... besides that fact they are selling there good for nothing, their work SUCKS!

I really like QCM's xolb-159. 158 is their most popular white, but the 159 is softer and brighter. It covers the shirt weave nice and flat, it flashes faster than any union, triangle, or icc white I've used, making it the best cotton underlay white ever. However, it's not as bleed-resistant as it says it is, so for 50-50's I like Union's no-bleed diamond white.
Silicone treated transfer paper works just fine.

The ink won't soak through and they are easy to peel off
and toss on the dryer belt.
(Use them several times before tossing.)
I know you buy can the paper stencils already done, but want to try it in house. Anyone do this or have done it? We've tried several different types of paper with not much luck.. Need to find something with a backing maybe..
_________________
www.cishirts.com
My wife says I'm evil. Print up signs exactly like them with their correct # and change the price to something that would put anyone out of business. i don't know, how about a buck a shirt, no minimum, full color with a pocket. The phone calls alone should drive them nuts. Maybe she's right.
Yeah... since monday I have found 8 signs within 2 miles of my shop.... The shop that is putting them out is over 20 mile away.
I informed my delivery guy to be on the look out for more... I armed him with an industrial trash bag and a coro knife.

I thought about calling the shop in question but at the moment I have nothing nice to say to them.
If this aggressive marketing continues I will out them on this forum.... just so everyone knows who is nice and who is not.

I am not even the biggest shop in my area... but the way the signs were placed was not cool.
I know I do REALLY NICE WORK and I know that THEY DONT!

I could see this situation getting worse before it gets better.

My employees want to make the exact same signs with lower prices and our phone number....
but I explained to them we do CUSTOM WORK not DISCOUNT WORK!

If these guys want to work for free..... let them. We will still be here when they go under.
_________________
Do it right the first time... buy an Apple Computer!

Recently bought second hand screen printing equipment for my company, it came with everything (I think)

Question:
1) The emulsion I have is purple and came with a little pot of something, the instructional DVD says 'you may think its empty but its not, simply add X amount of water and mix it into the purple emulsion' - To me it does look empty, only showing remenants of a blue liquid stuck to the insides. I want to know what this little pot of chemicals is called and how do I know if my emulsion has had it already mixed in hence why pot may be empty?
I've been looking at getting a one step reclaiming tub. I've never used one and don't know anyone who has so I'm a little unsure. Although it does seem like a good option because I'm trying my best to keep my start up cost and shop size to a minimum. But at the same time I don't want to skimp on anything. If I have to I'll just go with the three step process I'm familiar with. Any info?
Thanks

Could these be illegal roadside signs? Report them to the county. Putting a sign directly in front of your shop is an a**hole thing to do and was probably done by the lowest paid person they have who knew no better. Make a call to let the owner know what his idiot shop boy is doing and ask him to stop. If he/she is a jerk to you, report the illegal signs. If that doesn't work, print up a load of coro yourself and have some fun when the other guy blows his top. Entertainment is where you find it!
Draw a circle/oval to desired curve. Select your text then add curve to group (hold shift and select oval or circle) in text flyout select fit text to path. Afterward with both objects selected you will have a toolbar at top for adjustments. After adjusting to your needs you can go to arrange/break text apart to seperate your text from your graphic.
