Solid painted glass bottle with transparent stripe

Hello everyone,

I wanted to ask a question about our adventure of trying to have a glass bottle painted white except for two "twigs" on each side of it, and then screen print on the paint. This whole production is taking place in China and I guess that's part of the reason why we ended up with so many problems. We are now considering alternatives and we desperately need some enlightenment!

The best and most affordable way we figured to pull this off, was to put twig-shaped stickers on the bottle, then spray it (white), then remove the stickers and then screen-print on the painted part. However, that proved to be very hard for a bulk of 30,000 bottles and perhaps without the right equipment. The biggest challenge was to remove the twigs without scratching the bottle or cracking the paint around them.

My questions is: Do you know of a better way to paint a glass bottle a solid color, which would more easily allow the inclusion of transparent shapes? Would a specific type of equipment be necessary to produce that result?

Thank you a ton for any input as we are desperately trying to figure out a way to deal with this challenge...
