Question: Marathon Spectator Posters Size and Price

Hello,

I have some questions regarding sizing, paper quality, and pricing of poster boards.

I'm helping to put on a marathon event in which I can have spectators grab a piece of poster board, draw their design on it and then hold it up for their athlete wherever they are on the race course. I've done some research and found that 18"x24" is a common size for a poster board, but I don't know if that is too small for what I am looking to do?

The quality of the poster board has to hold up to a bit of sweat and bending, so what is a good thickness in industry terms?

Lastly, I am looking to do about 2,000+ posters. What am I looking at price wise in the United States in terms of cost per unit for purchasing blank poster boards compared to purchasing a poster board with a 1-color watermark?

Thank you,

F
