what kind of printing is this?
http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w178 ... xample.jpg
I'm talking about the thick-layered silver coating on top (the logo). The silver words, although looked similar in the image, were I think ironed on the shirt.
I bought this T-shirt not long ago and I really love the printing. I would like to order a custom designed T-shirt with a slogan printed using that technique (and of course, shiny or fluorescent ink too!) from an online store, but I don't know where to start at all. Please help!

looks like either metallic ink or maybe foil?
Hard to tell with that picture. You can achieve that same design a few ways.
What type of production scale are you doing? 1-2 shirts? Several 1000?

.... I can give you my opinion but I can't tell you if it's right or not.

Probably a water based ink black print, then an adhesive print, then dried. Then it is put into a heat press, and a foil is put over it and pressed on. The press is lifted the foil is pulled and everywhere the adhesive was now is foil. The excess foil is then trashed and you have the shirt you purchased.

Looks like silver foil

Zynthesis nailed it...definitely looks as water based black, or possibly just black with a lot of primer clear or soft hand...and definitely looks like foil, as he explained how to apply...I used to print for abercrombie...This definitely looks like their techniques...

Definitely FOIL but i see some rising, for sure is a lot of gel deposit (maybe HD) under silver foil, i have made some prints like this, or try using a puff underlay before foil adhesive.

Looks like foil but a little blotchy. Looks like the printer didn't use enough pressure with their heat press.
