Hi,
I'm looking to add a varnish to a set of postcards I've done. I've seen it been done before - kinda a cheaper way of getting the printers to apply a spot UV.
Can someone tell me how this works?
Do i simply run a gloss varnish through the screen? Do I add emulsion? Any one know what it is exactly I need to get hold of...
Thanks.

Re: Applying a varnish
You can screen print the primer not a problem I have used UV cureable primers. If you have a UV cure unit this is the way to go if not there is some solvent based or water based ones I'm sure. Check with Nazdar call there Tech support at 866-340-3579. My advice is to use as fine of mesh as possible and cure as quick as possible. The one bad thing about water based clear coats is that they want to asorbe into the substrate solvent not as bad but could cause your printed ink to flow. I hope this helps. And good luck.
