Choosing a large format printer

Hello!
I need your advice on choosing a large format printer. To be precise, I'm choosing beetween two printers. At first I was thinking of buying Canon IPF8300, but then I also liked
HP Designjet Z6200, though it's more expensive. Which one would you choose? Or maybe you can recommend me something else?

My Dad is fond of photography and I want to make a gift for him, so I need a decent large format printer mainly for printing photos.

Either will do that, you could even go for one of the 12 colour Epson printers though they are very expensive to run.

Here are a few things you could try in order to make the choice easier:1.) Set a budget. 2.) Ask yourself "What do I expect the printer I will buy to do for me?" 3.)Make a list of functionality that you would like to have and see which printer has the best to offer. 4.) Ask the salesman, because he should know everything about the printers he sells.
