Dye before printing, or the other way around?

Post by jeffcampagna »

Hey everyone,

New here. I'm screen printing a 20x20 water based, 3 color print on to 100% cotton bandanas.

The bandanas are white, but I am dyeing them to be an creamy organic color with coffee.

My question is, in your experience, should I dye the bandanas in the coffee, then get them screen printed? Or screen print the raw white bandanas, and then dye them in coffee afterwards.

Thanks in advance!

Dye then print. If you dye after printing you may stain the ink as well resulting in an off color print.
