Screen Printing Forum

Hello everyone, and thanks for all the info that I have gained from this site. I have searched for this answer with no luck. Is it possible to "screen print" a series of names onto something to be able to cut out and heat transfer? I have been using Stahl's pre-spaced names and was wondering if I needed a custom color for the names if I could make them without a plotter? Thanks and I hope this question makes sense to y'all.

Sure thing.

Get some silicone treated transfer paper.
Print your names in reverse.
Run them through your dryer at
about half you normal temp and adjust your speed
until they come out just dry to the touch and
not sticky.
(It's a judgement thing)

If a transfer comes out sticky slow the belt a bit and
run it thru again. The time is not cumulative
so it won't hurt a thing to run one thru
until you find the right speed.

Cut them apart
and heat press as normal.

Ink choice:

There are inks dedicated to making transfers but you
can do just fine with almost any plastisol.

The same rules apply for bleed resistance.
ie. use a low bleed for blends etc.

Hi , does some of you guys know how to build my own heat press, if you know some plans or something like that.
